The Australian student visa was earlier divided into several categories depending on the level of study or qualification a student applied for. On 1st July 2016,the visa sub classes were merged and a simplified student visa framework (SSVF) was introduced. As per the SSVF, all student visas came under a single platform or a class called the subclass 500 visa.The new SSVF means that the students are no longer assigned an immigration risk assessment level since the same framework is applicable to all the students.
